Enough to make the angels blush...

Hi Dolls,

As you all know I work for Benefit Cosmetics and on Saturday we launched our new box powder blusher ' Hervana'. Of course I got a free one of these and thought it's only fair for me to share this with you!

A 'good karma' face powder'
The packaging for the blusher has 'heaven' theme, which I find really cute like many of the packaging's for Benefit products. In the box there is the blusher (of course), a mirror which is handy for those cheeky little make-up touch-ups through-out the day and a really soft, angled brush to apply the blusher with. Unlike some blushers which come with a brush this brush is pretty good quality and I haven't experienced no fall out when using.

So onto the blusher itself, it has a swirl design with four different shades of pink- lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight. You can blend these together for a pink flush or use individually. A little tip- you can use these individually as eye shadows also!

Angled blusher brush

Now my thoughts of the blusher, on my skin tone it doesn't show up very well and can look quite ashy, so I wouldn't recommend this shade if you have tanned skin. However, when I tried it on ladies with fairer skin tones at work, it looks really pretty and very on trend for the spring time!

If you would like to purchase this blusher you can buy it on the Benefit Cosmetics website or at your local Benefit counter for £23.50. Come by and see me on a Saturday if you shop in Croydon Debenhams ;)

What are your thoughts? What is your fav Benefit blusher? Mines Dallas!

Topshop Cream Blush in Pinch

Hey Dolls,

I am still alive! So today I am going to be reviewing Topshop's Cream Blush in Pinch. I haven't used a cream blush before and have always wanted to so whilst shopping the other day with my gift card, I decided to pick up this cream blush. There were a few other pink shades but I decided this would be better with my skin tone.

Cute Packaging!

When first opening the cream blush I loved the packaging and the fact that it comes with a mirror inside, for those quick make-up touch ups.

The colour looks super bright in the pan but as you see below with one coat blended properly it gives a pretty almost sheer pink colour.

Below is two layers of the cream blush for a brighter colour! Would be great on a fashion shoot or on darker skins.

So my overall thoughts are that I really like the colour however I do feel the other shade they do 'Neon Rose' would flatter fairer skins better. In terms of how long it lasted on me, unfortunately it didn't last very long and so I wouldn't wear this alone, maybe as a base for another blusher to add depth.

If you would like to buy this, you can get it in most Topshop stores for £6.00 or £5.40 with student discount!

Have you girls got any cream blushers you would recommend?

Cosmetics Wish List

Hey Guys,

I am pretty broke at the moment as I am planning on booking a holiday to Tunisia with my boyf at the end of the week so haven't made any purchases but would like to share with you two things. One, my wish list of things I intend to purchase when my bank balance allows me to, and two I am reviewing another product for a magazine soon! It will be DARE magazine, which is the mag you find in Superdrug. I shall be reviewing a lip tint, so I will let you know how that goes soon!

*My Wish List*

1. The Naked2 Palette by Urban Decay- These colours are right up my street and would be great for my make-up kit to do sultry smokey eyes!! The Palette contains a Travel-size Lip Junkie Lip gloss in Naked, Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush and 12 eye shadows.

£36 from Debenhams

2. Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick- I don't tend to wear foundation but one of my class mates used this on me and I just loved the finish it gave. Its great as it has adjustable coverage so I could gain a sheer effect and build it up in areas that I need to, especially at that dreaded time of the month when I hate everything about my face! Ha!

£27 from Bobbi Brown

3. BBU Face Palette- This palette is a must in my eyes for an aspiring make-up artist, a friend of mine has it and it's amazing, with concealers, correctors and foundations, its portable, easy to use and has a gorgeous range of shades! I really and I mean REALLY want this, but at the price of £185.00 its going to have to wait a while unless I can sweet talk my dad :) . It an online exclusive so if you do want to get it you can only get it from the Bobbi Brown site.

BBU Face Palette- £185.00

4. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze- I love these 5 shades and think they'd look lovely on, giving that summery, sun kissed glow! A plus is that they can also be used as eye shadows so not only is it absolutely gorgeous its also versatile! (I might try that line on my parents, see if that'll persuade them to purchase it for me Ha!)

£30.50- Bobbi Brown

4. Illamasqua Freak Fragrance £59- After getting my make-up done at Illamasqua and smelling the Freak fragrance I liked it but was unsure, as the day went on and I kept having subtle smells of it from my Illamasqua bag it has grown on me and I love it. I think it'll be my next perfume choice,  for the moment I have Dolce and Gabanna-The One, Alien by Thierry Muglar and Fantasy by Britney Spears to get through! ( Can you tell I like my sweet perfumes?)

Whats on your wish lists?

'LOOK' what I got!..

Hi Guys,

So the time has come, LOOK posted my 4 products to review and I got them on Friday. Sorry for the delay have been busy since then! I have sent them my review and so regular LOOK readers may see me in  the mag soon, I'm guessing Feb or March's issue, so watch this space...

Now obviously I couldn't just do the review for LOOK and not show you guys so here it is! They sent me 4 long-lasting coloured liquid liners to review and compare and those were:

Urban Decay Waterproof 24/7 Liquid Liner in Woodstock- £14
GOSH Extreme Art Liner in No 11-£5.99
Stargazer Eyeliner in Purple-£3
Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Liquid Liner in Bronze- £19

My thoughts:

Urban Decay- I am not really a fan of the packaging for this as it makes the item look cheap, when it definitely is not. I wouldn't wear this colour as it isn't very flattering for around the eye and is hard to wear, because of that I wouldn’t buy this liner as I don't feel it is worth the money , however it does stay on well and doesn’t smudge.   3/5

GOSH- This is my second favourite out of all the liners, it’s gorgeous, turquoise colour would be great in the summer with a golden tan or if you're going out. I like the packaging as it is simple yet effective as you can see exactly what colour the liner is going to be. I definitely think it is worth the money as it’s very reasonably priced and, lasts long and is really pigmented! However, it is very hard to get off and is definitely not a lazy, baby wipe job!    4/5

Stargazer- My least favourite out of the four liners, I wouldn't recommend this liner as it takes ages to dry, is very watery and once it finally does dry, crumbles off. The price definitely reflects on the product as the brush isn’t very precise and it smudges easily.  1/5

Estee Lauder- I really like the packaging of this eyeliner as the long handle makes it much easier to use, the liner brush is a firm pen-like brush and so makes it easy and precise when applying. The colour is really pretty and would add some glamour to a smokey brown eye! It stays true to its claim and doesn’t smudge and lasts long. My only negative is the price, at £19 it is quite expensive for an eyeliner and so I probably wouldn't buy it unless I want to treat myself.  4/5

What do you guys think?

Are there any liners you would recommend?

Pinks the word!

Hey Girlies,

Just an uber quick blog post today! So I'm always looking for the right pink nail polish shade, not too light, not too dark- can you tell I'm quite particular? Ha and I've found it!! This nail colour is by OPI and is called 'Shorts Story' I absolutely love it and so wanted to share it with you guys. I got it at a discounted price as I bought it from the beauty supplier store Capital as I have a member card due to the fact I am a qualified beauty therapist. With the discount it came to around £4!!! Great, I know! Usually they're a lot more but you should try beauty stores like Sally's.

B.B Creams, Blog Awards and LOOK update

Hi everyone,

So this isn't like one of my usual posts, I am rolling three different topics into one today.  To being with, I got a blog award!! Which I am really happy about as I havent been blogging for long. I recieved the award from the lovely ladies at TheBeautyGeeks and now will have to pick my 5 top blogs. These are:

1.Monicas Notebook-I love her blog, great fashion and everday life blog
2.Trinket Travels-Want to know about travel, then heres your girl!
3.The Beauty Geeks- great blog about beauty
4.Vivianna does Make up- Beautiful beauty blog, with great reviews and more!!! Recommend!
   5. Polish and Pearls- Great nail blog!!

So heres your award save the picture and put it on your blog, then pick 5 of your top blog picks and let them know you have chosen them. Make sure you post it on your blog with the award picture!

Next up, I got sent a sample of Garnier's new 'Miracle Skin Perfector B.B cream' in the post today from Boots, which I was pretty chuffed about as I really want to try a B.B cream as I don't wear foundation and love 'You Rebel' which is a tinted moisturised from Benefit. However, my delight sizzled away when I realised they had sent me light, obviously not knowing what colour skin tone I was but still its a bit of a downer!! Buy hey ho, I thought I'd still review it anyway.

My first impression in opening the sample packet was a lovely fruity smell, which is always nice as some products can smell like chemicals which can be off putting so at least your face will smell nice! The texture when applying to my hand is really cream and easy to blend and left my hand looking healthy and brighter! The B.B cream contains vitamin C and mineral pigments and claims to even, cover, illuminate, hydrate and protect with sp15 and I have no doubts that it wouldn't do that. It comes in two shades, light and medium and I definitely think its worth giving a go at only £9.99 and at the moment its on offer with 2 Garnier products for £15! Bargain!

Here are other B.B creams I would like to try:

Estee Lauder Cyber White Brilliant Cells B.B Cream
Really want to try this in the medium shade as I have heard good things!!
No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream
Boots usually have good offers like 3 for 2 or £5 off vouchers for No7 so that may sway me to buy theirs!
There a three different ones, one for Dry/Very Dry skin, Normal/Dry and Oily/Combination. Which I feel is great because some creams can be too greasy for those with combination/oily skin like myself!

I shall let you know when I have bought a B.B Cream and let you guys know how I get on!

And lastly,  just to give you guys an update on my news from LOOK magazine, they're sending me out four coloured liquid liners to review on Friday so watch this space...

ELF Mini Haul

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you some items I bought at E.L.F <-link,  because I felt the products are pretty good quality and so cheap. Eyes lips and face (E.L.F) are a web store that sell beauty products galore and great gifts too. The majority of the beauty products on their site are £1.50 apart from their studio range which are better quality products and larger pieces like kits and bags. I bought a few things before Christmas and expected the delivery to take forever! but it came in literally 2 days! I was quite surprised!

 I purchased:
Foundation Brush- £1.50
Concealer Brush- £1.50
Studio Cream Liner in Black- £2.45
Studio Cream Liner in Brown- £2.45
The cream liners were on sale, I think they're usually £3.50 but that's still a bargain! They even come with a mini liner brush!
STUDIO RANGE Pigment Eyeshadow in Gold- £3.50

The cream eyeliners are really easy to work with a stay moist in the pot and so you do not need water! They come out really pigmented as well and I love using them for day make-up instead of using liquid liner which can look harsh. They're smudgable which is great for doing some sassy, smokey-eyes!  My only negative is they stay on as long as liquid liner seems to do but maybe that's because of the difference in texture, I would probably use a eyelid primer to help longevity.

The gold pigment eyeshadow is a really nice cold and is quite pigmented especially for the price but I would unlike most cosmetics pots with wholes in, the shadow doesn't come out very easily, which is great as I know I won't have a nasty spillage in my bag but it can be quite annoying if you want to use a lot. However, it was only £3.50 so it is still a bargain!

The brushes are great for only £1.50 and they don't do the tell tale sign of cheap brushes where the hairs fall out, however, I was surprised at how small the brush is of the concealor brush and was expecting something a bit larger but I really like the foundation brush.

ELF have many, many products on their site and I am yet to try more!

Whats in my make-up bag?

Hi everyone,
 I thought it'd be a great idea to do a blog post showing what I keep in my make-up bag and what are my staple products which I use daily. So here it goes;

I use these products in my daily make-up routine and also take these around with me in case of make-up emergencies! The beloved products are;

Benefit Your Rebel Tinted Moisturiser- As I don't wear foundation I love to use this tinted moisturiser and not only does it keep my skin hydrated, it gives the skin a lovely healthy glow and evens out my skin tone. It also contains vitamins A + E which are great for the skin and SPF 15! This is a definite must for the summer when foundation is a no no in my eyes. The tube costs £23.50 but lasts a life time as a little goes a long way!

Benefit They're Real Mascara- Yes I do work for Benefit but I genuinely mean this when I say this is the best mascara I have ever tried. It drys glossy black and so doesn't look grey as the day goes on, it truly makes my lashes appear longer and really defines each lash.

Black Up Blusher in BL06- I only just recently changed my blusher from Bourjois Blusher in Santal to this one, they are pretty similar shades however Black-Up is slightly more expensive at £15.25 (although I did get staff discount). I am yet to fully decide my thoughts on it but so far so good. The colour is a plummy shade with flecks of gold in it, which I love on olive/tan skin tones.

Benefit Oh la lift Eye Brightening cream- I apply this on top of my concealer or alone to brighten my under eyes and give them a bit of a pick me up as it reflects light! Great tip- keep it in the fridge and apply in the morning to reduce puffiness.

Illamasqua Concealer- To conceal the obvious traits of tiredness- dark circles!
MUA Bronzer in Shade 1- Speaks for itself ;)

Sleek Face Contour kit in Medium- To fake those modelesque cheek bones! I use the lighter shade to highlight the top of my cheekbones and the deeper shade to contour.

Benefit Browzings in Medium- To give me those Kim Kardashian brows!

Carmex- To keep my lips soft, I love the flavour too!

Foundation and concealer brush from ELF

Angled brush and blusher brush from MAC

and my latest addiction 'Collection 2000 Lasting Colour lipstick in Sweet Tart when I feel like wearing some lippy:)

What's in your make-up bag?

A few pics of my work..

Hi everyone,

Sorry my recent posts haven't been that great, I keep decided to take pictures at night for my blog posts and the flash is completely ruining the photos so I have decided not to post these and will re-do them in natural day light and post on Sunday. The posts you can eagerly wait for are; 'Whats in my make-up bag?' 'Sleek & Black-up products' and 'ELF haul', so have no fear my dears!

So as my plan to post today failed, I decided instead of being lazy and not posting at all, I'd post a few pictures of work that I have done whilst learning Make-Up Artistry, so here it goes...

Mini Cosmetics Haul

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd post a quick review on a few products I bought today, I was in Boots in Wandsworth Shopping Centre and after seeing the review of this No7 Nail polish from 'The Sunday Girl', I just had to go get it! Of course as many women like me do, I didn't just buy one thing!

After looking through the different make-up selections in Boots, I found this colour and loved it. It is by Collection 2000 and costs a measly £2.99! The shade is number 8- 'Sweet Tart', from their 'Lasting Colour' range and is a pretty pink shade with a glossy feel to it. It is easy to apply and leaves the lips feeling moisturised, it has quite a long lasting effect which I am surprised about at such a cheap price but I cannot complain. The colour of the lipstick looks slightly lighter than it actually is in the photo above due to the flash. This lip colour looks really nice with a bronzed face and simple lined eyes for a chic look.

Now, this lip liner was just a random buy that I threw in my basket but I am actually quite happy with it. The crayon is soft and glides easily and the colour comes out a nice pink (hoping to use this with the new lippy!!). This lip liner is by Natural Collection and was just £1.99! The shade is Ruby Rose. I cant say its amazing as I am yet to try wearing it but its great if you need a pink lip liner on a budget!

I have saved the best till last! I am in love with these polishes already and can't wait to wear them. After seeing this No7 nail polish on 'The Sunday Girl's' blog I just had to get it. The shade is 'Cheeky Chops 240' and is a coral/pink shade, moving more towards the pink in my opinion. The colour comes out really pigmented and 2 coats is more than enough. It would usually cost me £7.00 but I used a £5 off No7 voucher and so it brought it down to £2! Bargain!! This shade will be perfect on holiday and I cannot wait to wear it!
The other polish I bought is a Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint in  'Silver Glitter'- now I wouldn't wear this alone as its not very pigmented but it would look amazing on top of a normal silver polish or to add shimmer to another nail polish colour.

Hope you liked my post, let me know what you think!

B-Lush Beauty

Hi guys,

So I really wanted to post a review on this new 'Black Up' Blusher I bought but my camera has decided it doesn't want to take photos today!!  As you know, I am a qualified beauty therapist, so I thought I'd show you all some pictures of my home salon that I have. I've named it B-Lush Beauty as my older sister also has her own home salon based in a cabin in her garden in Crawley. I am based in Mitcham and provide the following; Swedish Massage, Facials, Manicures, Pedicures, Acrylic nails, Eyelash and Eyebrow tinting and Waxing. Recently, between doing my make-up course at college and working on the Benefit counter,I haven't had much time to do treatments and must start doing some again!! E-mail me if you would like to book! :)

As you can see I've kept things simple but pretty with decoration, the theme being pink, black and white. I love how alot of light gets into this room so its very refreshing when you walk in. The rooms quite small but the size is just right and I can fit all my treatments in. I have a nail station which is where I do the manicures and acrylic nails, using OPI Polishes of course!, then the massage bed which I also use for facials, massage, waxing and tinting. Pedicures can either be done with the bed or on a normal chair.

Let me know what you think of my salon!

Mirror,Mirror...

Good morning everyone!
I just wanted to do a quick post/review on a present a family friend bought me for Christmas. I think every girl should have one and I know you beauty fanatics will love it as much as I do.

The best quality of this mirror is that it has LED lights which can be turned on and off, so no matter where you are, whether it be light or dark you can still touch-up your lippy or check that your make-up is still wonderfully perfect. It is a great size and has two mirrors with a lovely leopard print casing (as you can see from my duvet cover, I love leopard print!) The mirror comes in a range of colours and designs, I will post a link so you can check them out! I feel the only thing that this mirror is missing is a magnified side of the mirror as neither of them are but I love it either way!

What are your views?

Benefit Upcoming...

Hi Guys,

So as you know I work for Benefit Cosmetics and recently (not through my work) I have found out about some new products coming out which I am excited for. They are the following:

sun beam
Liquid Sunshine in a bottle!
Sunbeam- This is what I am possibly most excited about as I am a lover of Girl Meets Pearl and Moon Beam and so cannot wait to launch this product on my counter. I found out about this as it has just been released on the american site for Benefit Cosmetics. It claims to give a golden bronze highlighting effect which you can apply on the cheek bones and brow bones for a sunkissed finish, which I think we all need in these cold, winter months!!

hervanahervana

Hervana- A new, fabulous box powder to join Dallas,Hoola, Coralista to list a few. With four shades of pink-lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight, I think this will look gorgeous in the summer teamed with some Posie Tint on the lips for a girlie daytime look or teamed with deep plum lipstick for an evening!  I am excited to use this on fellow Benefit fans!

Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Liquid Foundation- Unfortunately I haven't  got a photo of this one but I just had to tell you guys! I found out about this through the British Beauty Blog and I must say I cannot wait for this to launch. I have longed for Benefit to bring out a Liquid foundation and they will be! With brightening properties and other skincare benefits, this liquid foundation will be available in many shades, from light to dark and so  will suit most skin colourings. It is oil-free which is great for those who are prone to oily skin and breakouts and will feel light on the skin. It will also come with a sample of the amazing primer 'Porefessional' which is a bonus!

Hope you guys found this blog post interesting and exciting
